2020 Forklift Safety Week Goes Online

The Australian Forklift and Industrial Trucks Association has been presenting Forklift Safety Week since 2011.

In light of the COVID-19 restrictions, we are moving this initiative online for this year.

The AFITA Safety Week Seminar, which in the past has been an all day face to face event, will become a series of four on-line seminars  which will be presented over two weeks commencing 17 June 2020.

These seminars are aimed at safety managers, operations managers, team leaders and anyone responsible for the safe operation of forklift and industrial trucks in Australia.

New international standards to increase safety

Forklift users across Australia stand to benefit from intended safety improvements outlined in several international standards recently adopted in Australia with more to come over the next 12 months, Standards Australia has announced.

A number of International Standards governing industrial trucks (forklifts) have recently been adopted as Australian Standards following extensive stakeholder consultation. The International Standards adopted have benefited from heavy influence of Australian experts ensuring their application in Australia, underpinned by international best practice.
